Hemp Recipes

Hemp milk

(makes approximately 1 liter)

  • 700 ml water
  • 1,5 cup shelled hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder (optional)

Blend all the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Use as it is or strain the milk through a nut milk bag. Hemp milk can be used in smoothies, porridges, puddings, desserts or baked goods, cereals or just as it is.

Hemp pesto

  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 cups shelled hemp seeds
  • 2 cups fresh basil, choped
  • 2 teaspoons tahini
  • 2 teaspoons Himalayan salt or ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup hemp oil
  • 3 sun-dried olives, pitted

You have three choices: mix all the ingredients in a food processor, at low speed in a blender or by hand with mortar and pestle. Mix pesto with zucchini pasta that you have made from fresh zuchini with a spiral slicer, or use regular whole wheat pasta. Hemp pesto keeps in the fridge for up to a week.

Sport hemp drink

(for one athlete)

  • 400 ml hemp milk
  • 1 ripe banana
  • a quarter of ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons hemp protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon acai powder
  • 2 teaspoons mesquite powder

Mix all the ingredients in a blender to get a thick and smooth drink. High-quality proteins from hemp will speed up the recovery and muscle regeneration, essential fatty acids from avocado will reduce the inflammation, while the antioxidants from acai will take care of harmful free radicals, produced during exercise. A perfect recovery drink!
